XPeng adjusts G9’s configurations within two days since model launch

XPeng today announced adjustments on the names and configurations of the XPeng G9’s trim levels, fewer than 48 hours after the flagship SUV hitting the market.

The move is made as a response to feedback from some customers who complained about the difficulty and high costs on choosing proper configurations.

Upon the adjustments, the configuration names of each series have been changed to Plus, Pro, and Max. Besides, two new trims—the 702 Max (369,900 yuan) and the 570 Max (349,900 yuan), have been added to the G9’s lineup, which was originally composed of six variants.

XPeng currently sees some intelligent and luxury facilities as standard across the entire lineup of the G9, including the 800-volt SiC platform and 3C super-fast-charging battery pack. The 4C charging battery pack has been offered as optional equipment to the configurations under the 650 series.

In addition, the entire model series now comes standard with XPeng’s first-generation ADAS, XPILOT. The Max version of each series can be updated to have the second-generation one, XNGP.

The “5D music cockpit” has become a standard kit to the G9 Pro and the higher level versions, containing a total of 18 features like Xopera (XPeng’s proprietary multimedia system), Nappa-leather-covered seats, the “cosmetic space”, and the smart fragrance system.

The XPeng G9 is expected for delivery to users in China next month.
