XPeng Motors’ New Model Leaked

On Tuesday, Bomin Electronics announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary had been selected to be the designated developer for XPeng Motors, and would serve as the supplier of parts and components for XPeng’s F30 and E38 models.

Bomin Electronics estimates that the project could last for up to 5 years, with the transaction amount estimated to be worth between 250 million yuan and 300 million yuan. This is the first time that XPeng unveiled the new code for the F30.

Founded in 1994, Bomin Electronics focuses on the production of high-end printed circuit boards. Its business covers the design, processing, sales and foreign trade of its products. The company is also involved in high-tech fields such as communication equipment, medical devices, testing systems, aerospace and household electronic products.

The R&D code of the XPeng G9 was E38 and public information suggests that XPeng unveiled the G9 at the Guangzhou Auto Show last year. This model is supported by advanced automatic assisted driving. Further, in addition to lidar, G9 has a highly integrated hardware architecture based on the X-EEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture. The vehicle also features higher performance chips. This is XPeng’s first mass-produced model supporting the XPILOT 4.0 intelligent-assist driving system.

XPeng built the G9 on the “Edward” platform, along with the P7, which was codenamed E28. The company has another major platform called “David”, on which XPeng built its G3 and P5, whose code names were D20 and D55 respectively.

The code-named F30 may also be an entirely new model built upon a completely new platform. According to XPeng Motors’ prospectus found among HKEx filings, in addition to the existing David and Edward platforms, the company is developing another platform to meet the needs of consumers in Chinese markets. The company is looking to speed up the launch of its newer products.
