XPeng G9 SUV to Be Unveiled in June

XPeng Motors offered a peak on Wednesday into eight highlights of its new SUV, the G9, including its electronic architecture, autonomous driving, audio functions, voice interaction, operating system, sensing system, air suspension and charging capability. The new car will be officially released in June this year.

The G9 made its debut during the Guangzhou Auto Show at the end of 2021, only showing its appearance and some technical information. In this official spoiler, XPeng confirmed that the G9 is equipped with air suspension, 5D immersive audio and evolved voice control functions.

The G9 adopts a brand-new intelligent electric platform, including the X-EEA 3.0 electronic architecture, an XPower 3.0 powertrain and supercharging system, a high-performance chassis and an intelligent cockpit system.

The X-EEA 3.0 architecture consists of a centralized supercomputing platform and local control modules. The supercomputing platform replaces the previously decentralized one, which can allow it to give full play to its computing power. The local control modules are to reduce circuit groups in the vehicle and achieve a more efficient system.

In terms of the communication architecture, XPeng has realized 30-minute firmware OTA upgrades while driving.

The XPower 3.0 powertrain system has five key features. The first one is that all the components in the car can support 800V high voltage. The second point is super-charging, and the maximum charging current can reach over 670A. The third is long battery life and the fourth is efficiency. In order to achieve this goal, XPeng adopts silicon carbide to achieve the highest efficiency of its electric drive system, which can reach 95%. The fifth is strong power, which is realized by the combination of electric drive and battery.

The G9 will be equipped with Xpilot 4.0, which is built on two NVIDIA DRIVE Orin systems-on-a-chip (SoC), achieving 508 trillion operations per second (TOPS). Xpilot 4.0 is also equipped with two lidars and an 8-million-pixel front-view camera.
